The Queensland Arts and Fashion Festival’s Next Gen Runway 2025 came to a dramatic and unforgettable conclusion with the avant-garde brilliance of Riley Colquist. A true visionary, Riley didn’t just present fashion—he presented a theatrical experience that defied rules, thrilled the senses, and left the Gold Coast audience breathless.

Riley’s collection featured architectural silhouettes, deconstructed forms, and a bold mix of industrial and organic materials. Each look was a masterclass in conceptual design, ranging from exaggerated shoulder structures and metallic sheens to soft, surreal shapes that blurred fashion and sculpture.

The palette was unapologetically daring—neon green clashed with burnt orange, while monochrome layers were slashed open to reveal fluorescent linings. Accessories took center stage, including face-covering veils, oversized utility bags, and footwear that was more sculpture than shoe.

Models stomped the runway with fierce confidence to a curated soundtrack of industrial beats and experimental rhythms, amplified by the adrenaline-pumping live drumming interludes. Tito Media captured every surreal moment, from the chaos of the dressing room to the powerful closing walk that earned gasps and cheers.

Riley Colquist’s finale was more than a fashion show. It was performance art, creative rebellion, and an unapologetic declaration that fashion can be strange, emotional, and magnificent all at once. The Next Gen Runway may have closed, but Riley’s arrival is just beginning.
