At the Queensland Arts and Fashion Festival's Next Gen Runway 2025, designer label Fluid made an unforgettable debut that challenged traditional ideas of gender and self-expression in fashion. As the name suggests, Fluid championed a boundaryless approach to style—one that celebrates individuality, personal freedom, and androgynous flair.
From the first look down the Gold Coast runway, Fluid delivered a thought-provoking mix of draped tunics, oversized suiting, layered textures, and asymmetrical silhouettes. Each ensemble blurred the lines between masculine and feminine, refusing to conform to fashion norms. The use of unconventional fabrics—matte latex, sheer overlays, neoprene, and metallic blends—created an edgy, futuristic feel that felt radical and relevant.
Color palettes ranged from monochrome to electric pinks and iridescent greens, reinforcing a visual language that refused to be boxed in. Accessories were equally bold—think sculptural earrings, multi-use belts, and statement footwear that added theatrical flair.
The crowd responded with enthusiasm, embracing the collection’s confidence and experimental energy. Fluid’s showcase echoed the cultural shift toward inclusive, expressive fashion that resonates beyond trend cycles. Event photography by Tito Media captured every powerful moment, from pre-show styling rituals to the commanding runway finale, preserving a bold statement that will continue to ripple through the Australian fashion scene.
Fluid didn’t just present a collection; it presented a philosophy—one that asserts fashion can be whatever you want it to be, no labels required.
